Spring has sprung and our new menu is here!
Spring has well and truly arrived at The British Queen, and we are absolutely delighted to introduce our brand new Spring 2026 Menu.
Fresh, seasonal, cooked with love and bursting with the very best this time of year has to offer.
So, let’s take a little tour, shall we?
Starters Worth Talking About
Some old favourites have found their way back onto the menu this season, and we couldn’t be happier.
The Pea, Broadbean and Feta Croquette with chipotle mayonnaise is back where it belongs. Crispy on the outside, creamy and flavourful within, with just the right kick from that smoky chipotle mayo. It was missed and rightly so.

Then there’s the Devon Crab and Avocado, served with brown crab mayonnaise, a zingy hit of pink grapefruit, fresh coriander, spiced corn and toasted garlic croutons. Elegant, fresh and just a little bit indulgent.

Warming, rich and deeply satisfying, our Fish Soup arrives with rouille, Gruyère and garlic croutons. The sort of bowl that makes you slow down and savour every spoonful.

And for something a little different, the Herbed Houmous and Falafel is a real celebration of bold, layered flavour. Topped with feta, pomegranate, harissa and maple, and served with flatbread and dukkah, it’s vibrant, generous and completely plant-based. A lovely way to start any meal.

The Main Event
This is where things get really exciting. Our chefs have put together a collection of mains that celebrate the season in the most delicious way possible, so whatever you’re in the mood for, we’ve got you covered.
The One Everyone’s Been Waiting For
You asked, we listened. The Malabar Fish Curry is back, and we could not be more thrilled to welcome it home. Spice-roasted cod, a grilled king prawn, fragrant malabar curry sauce, coconut rice and toasted coconut chips. A proper crowd-pleaser and absolutely not to be missed.
Something for Every Appetite
If you’re in the mood for something truly showstopping, the Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder Roulade is calling your name. Finished with a provencale crust, minted pea puree, pea salad, braised carrot, dauphinoise, confit garlic and a rich lamb jus.
The Pork Tomahawk returns this season too, pan-fried and served with buttered spring greens, silky mousseline and a pork and marjoram jus.

And if you fancy something a little more refined, the Gressingham Duck Breast with dauphinoise, braised carrot, citrus sauce and orange confit is a real beauty on the plate.
For those who prefer something lighter but no less impressive, the Pan Fried Chalkstream Trout with crushed potatoes, almond and watercress puree is spring in every single bite.
For Our Plant-Based and Veggie Friends
We haven’t forgotten you, not even a little bit. The Pea and Broad Bean Salad is a real celebration of the season: frisée, roasted piquillo peppers, crispy shallots, fried broad beans, a tomato chilli vinaigrette and a pea and feta cheese croquette alongside.
And the Lemon Ricotta and Pine Nut Ravioli is everything a vegetarian main should be. Spring vegetables, asparagus and a delicate watercress sauce. Simple, seasonal and quietly perfect.
And the Spring Vegetable Risotto is a real showstopper in its own right. Wild garlic, pea veloute, Grana and chive oil, all coming together in one beautifully balanced, deeply comforting bowl. This is spring, plated up and ready to go.

Save Room for Dessert
Honestly, we mean it. You will want to save room.
The Basque Cheesecake is back, and it is every bit as glorious as you remember. Served with raspberry coulis and macerated raspberries, it’s the kind of dessert that makes you wish you hadn’t been quite so enthusiastic with the bread basket. Rich, creamy and lighter than it has any right to be. Order it. You won’t regret it.
Raise a Glass to Spring
The new menu isn’t the only thing getting a refresh. The British Queen Happy Hour has been updated too, with some lovely new additions to help you make the most of those golden spring evenings.
In the meantime, book your table, gather your favourite people and come and see what spring tastes like at The British Queen. We can’t wait to cook for you.
